Solo ride through Royal National Park
« on: March 29, 2010, 02:58:19 PM »
Hi Guys,

Well with permission given by the boss for a ride (and hoping she didn't go into labour once I was down south), I took the R65LS through the Royal National Park south of Sydney. For those who haven't experienced it the Royal National park is a nice twisty road, loved by motorcycles and you ride through standard Australian bush until the bottom half when it is more of a forest setting.

Just awesome and the R65LS did really well. Dav and Pete, I hope we can do another ride south, so we can show three r65s off together.

I stopped at a café and came out to find three guys looking at my bike reminiscing about the r65s they used to own.

I have included some pics of the bike at Bald Hill lookout.

Best to all,
Paul

Hey Paul,

Good to see that you managed to get out and about, indeed taking the touring bags! Yet another perfect south coast riding day.

Was the Doughnut guy there that day? It always makes for a nice reward after the nasho.

Definately up for another ride south through April is completely out now for me  - except for the ride to the mountains on the 10th - How is May looking for you to get time out?

Cheers
Pete

Hi Pete,

Yes the doughnut guy was there but I had talked myself into a full breakfast, so I rode down to Stanwell Park and enjoyed a flat white and bacon, eggs and sausages at the Palms Café. Had to make he most of a solo morning out.

Couldn't get over seeing three different highway patrol cars. Usually ride through the park on a weekday during school holidays. No police then, but clearly they hammer the road on Sunday. Thankfully on the straight when I got to 120 km/h they weren't around. Best thing was the speedo wasn't wobbling at 120 km/h.  ;D

As you can imagine forward planning will be awkward for me in the next month, but come May I am hoping I can tee something up. I will just have to wait and see.

All the best,
Paul
