R65ers at Sweetie Pies
« on: March 07, 2010, 08:53:16 AM »
The FarOut North Texas Chapter of R65 dot org gathered for food and fellowship on Saturday afternoon, March 6th. Checking in were Burt "Tx_Burt" and Patsy Perrault, Mike "Bengt Phorqs" and Theresa Crenshaw and Monte and Lynn Miller.

The eatery selected was Sweetie Pies Rib Eyes located adjacent the Wise County Courthouse on the Decatur, Texas, town square. A unique Texas joint where the noise level is conductive to loud and happy chatter, the wait staff do the occasional line dance and a couple of them will randomly break out in a C&W song. They gotta real Wurlitzer jukebox, too.

The usual suspects, left to right: Burt, Monte, Lynn, Mike, Theresa and Patsy. Shiner Bock appears to be the adult beverage of choice.

Lynn shows off her new Puny Earthling Wear Luftkoph Tee. Burt got to sign the flag... finally.

If anyone else is going to the 49er Rally in Mariposa over Memorial Day weekend we could use the flag!  We'll see what happens.  I'll post more about that as the time comes closer.

Looks like you guys had a great time there at Sweetie Pies!  Good friends and good food.  Can't beat it!

With the guys down Sydney way organising rides, maybe we need an R65 flag with a Southern Cross in it somehow. A second one for the South Pacific.

This might be the place to let you know what I'm up to with a 2nd flag.   I've done a flag in Tapestry Crochet.  It's almost done - just have to back it with something.

My plan was to have this one go around the world and have people take pictures of it with their bike with a great view or something really cool about where people live in the background.   I'll have it with me at the 49er Rally and in Redmond and then send it on its way to someplace else in the world.  We'll have the other flag there too for signing and pictures and all that.

I'll put up a picture of the flag as soon as I finish it.

I'll start a thread about this later and post a picture then.
