As I unwrapped my fingers from the grips and tried to straighten them out, I thought about the nice ride we just did up Hwy 101 along back roads mostly on the way up to Ukiah. It was a sunny day and we figured that we'd better get out and ride while we could. It was supposed to get up to 61 F.

And there were only a few high horsetail type clouds in the sky.
I put on my FirstGear winter riding pants and my FirstGear Kilimanjaro jacket with the liner, my good riding boots with warm socks, and my warm insulated riding gloves. Didn't even leave until noon, but it was finally getting warm enough. After filling up with gas we headed north on Hwy 101 and stopped off in Geyserville to get something hot to drink to sustain us on the rest of the ride.
Took off on the side road and headed up as far as we could go. Went through Cloverdale where another Airhead pulled up next to us. He was definitely checking us out. I think I recognized him but it's hard to tell with the helmet on.

He didn't stay with us long and took off down a side road. We continued on until the road ended and the freeway was the only way to go further.
We headed off the freeway on Old River Rd just south of Hopland and just before the Russian River crossing. Nice twisty 2 lane road that parallels Hwy 101 on the other side of the river.......and shady. It started getting colder and my fingers were starting to feel it. A beautiful road though. I knew we were going to be turning around soon when we got to the Buddhist Temple just outside Ukiah. I've heard about this place but had never been by it before. And, I forgot to take pictures.

My hands were starting to get cold even through the gloves. Plus the sun was getting lower and it wasn't going to get any warmer. We headed back to Hwy 101 and beat it back to Windsor. It was cold enough to feel it through my layers and we got a bit chilled, but we both had big smiles!
