Vintage British Bike Show!
« on: July 26, 2009, 07:58:53 PM »
I took a 50 mile ride today from Greenville to Chesnee, SC for what I heard was the 5th annual "Bikes on Main" show, which also was featuring a vintage British motorcycle show.  That was enough to get my attention, so I saddled up and rode over to check it out.

I took some photos of the event, both the "Bikes on Main" and the Brit Bike show, and put them on a photobucket, com site that you can look at if you want.  Just click on each image for an description.  It was fun to attend, and I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the lovely British bikes, as well as the many different brands that people rode to see the show.  (I heard there were usually at least 2,000 attendees or more at the past years these shows were held, and I would guess there were at least that many today.)

Anyway, hope you enjoy!    ;)

Great photos, Mike!!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

And thanks for including the one you got of the Suzuki Savage for Pattimarie!  I forwarded it to her, and I know she'll get a grin out of that pic!  ;)

The red 1967 BSA is a Lightning (Dual carb).  The Blue Lightning is actually a Thunderbolt (single carb).  The café racer parked next to the wicked black triumph is an Oil-In-The-Frame Lightning/Firebird.  The ignition switch position is not a selling point of this design but it handles really well.

Thanks for the pictures.  Really nice.

I think the '69 Triumph is a later year, post '70 from the front brake and frame.  But it has an oil tank, or maybe the beauty kit.  Hmmm.  The one captioned '70, with all the cool matte black, appears newer too.

I need to take some pictures of mine.
