A day at the Seaside
« on: July 13, 2009, 01:34:43 PM »
We meet up with a group of friends at Birchwood for a weekend of music fun and games http://www.fort-san-antone.com/ i had promised my pals wife a go on the bike so i loaded it on the truck hooked up the caravan and off we went. Sunday was chosen as the day for the ride the weather was great so off we went.
Out of the gates on the Lytham road straight into a 10,000 strong cycle event "do-oh" crawled all the way to St Annes......not good on a hot day with an Airhead the lost the cyclists as we hit the dunes great open her up......no roadworks all the way into Blackpool got diverted off the start of the prom round pleasure island back to the seafront, At last some serious cruising and posing down the prom heading for the tower and......more roadworks and another diversion but not to be dismayed we stopped for a triple choc ice cream (yummy)
found a back road out of Dodge got her into 5th gear on the way home
and vowed to do it all again when they've finished rebuilding Blackpool if the highways agency and the tourist board ever decide to talk to each other it would be a good ride out, but never mind we had a blast on the way back. forgot the camera so only got one picture as we set off i think i was concerned the helmet wouldn't fit!!

Y'all know where the band's name came from, don'cha?

May still be on in reruns somewhere, but the original RedNek Humor TV show was HeeHaw! One of the locs was a mountain of a man named Junior Samples. Junior never did fish with all his hooks in the water but he did have used car lot. The telephone number for Samples Auto Sales was... BR-549.
