Tech Daze at TexasMotorSpeedway
« on: June 13, 2009, 01:34:29 PM »
The DFW R65.org contingent rendezvoused Saturday, 13 June, for the BMW Tech Daze event hosted by the very generous staff of Texas Motor Speedway, just south of Denton, Texas.

Beemers and riders, both old and new, gathered in the spacious NASCAR Sprint Cup garage for fellowship and bike tweaking accompanied by the sweet sound of NASCAR iron ripping around the race track. Very cool.

According to our TMS host, this activity may become a regularly scheduled BMW event. It certainly didn't hurt that our TMS host personality had his R1100 in the garage area.

OK, so it's not actually the MotoGP pits and there were no umbrella girls, but there was complimentary cold drinks and donuts.

Monte Miller and Mike Crenshaw. Faces to attach to names.

There were 7-8 Airheads on site and the bikes drew enough attention to make their riders feel special.

Justin, the R65.org shaker, and his boss, Barbi Bowser, were on hand. Justin rode in on his new oily head 'R' cop bike; it's shock and awe, for sure. Barbi was on her sweet R65. That's Mike again chattin' it up.

Right. The new groom was able to break away for a few hours. He looked kinda tired to me,  ;D  'Bengt' but not broken.

Huh?  Is that a double entendre'?  Monte I might be used but I'm not used up.  Now, back to the High Road....

Yes, Ms. Buck, Bengt Phorqs is my nom de scooter.  And now that the nuptials are complete, Mrs. Phorqs (Theresa) and myself will probably be spending some time in North Carolina once or twice a year to visit her eldest son and family.  Actually we go for the grandchildren but it makes son & his wife feel better if we say we're visiting them.

Hopefully we will be able to meet some of the North Carolina contingent one of these days.
