cross town traffic
« on: March 31, 2008, 03:32:18 PM »
I got up Saturday morn to ride to the Orioles fanfest day in Baltimore. I decided to ride despite temps started around 38 (3 celcius). I took a 30 min ride and was glad to park around 9am. I stayed in the stadium till 1130 and had to meet a blind date in dc. By then temps hovered around 50. (10 cel).
I rode a great ride down the baltimore washington parkway and needed to stop for gas. At the station I found a guy on a disabled 2003 indian scout. After I showed him how to turn the gas on( a mistake Im sure many would have made ONCE and not want to admit) I rode into my nations capital. I never realized how fun inner city riding could be but as dangerous. I met my blind date and had lunch. yada yada yada- I rode back home for another 30 or so mins and beat dusk. It was a good day for riding I wish i could ride at least once a week. company would be nice too.
I had to sell my beemer to pay uncle sam :(

So are you going to have a 2nd (non-blind) date?

Who set you up?  Friends?  Computer?  (I've given up on the later...)

In fact, I have thrown the towel so far in, that I am installing a solo seat on my only bike!!!

There will not be a second date this time. She contacted me through myspace but wouldnt send me an image of herself :-X and now I know why. Im no underwear model myself but this kinda thing is physical attraction as well as mental, spiritual etc.. Ive been  half heartedly putting myself out there since my ex and  the concept of a date really inspired me to work at it a little more,  this sure wasnt "THE ONE" but im technically back on the horse.
It was alot easier before I quit drinking, but that cut in on my riding time too. Dont throw in the towel, shes right around the corner!

All I can say to that is, she had better come with her own bike!

Or, maybe I could talk this female into riding with me.  At least my bike has shock absorbers!

OK guys, you want to meet a nice girl that loves motorcycles, join a local MC group.  8-) That's how I met my husband - in the local BMW MC club.  OK, we were both 'attached' to others when we first met, but after time, it worked out just right that we were both unattached at the same time and had already formed a great friendship in the meantime...you never know what's right around the corner, just when you least expect it!

actually, funny story about that one. i was in new york city @ times square with 3 of my cousins. two of them were older, maxine and marlene and the other was my age Malcolm. SO we were all walking down the street when Mal and i almost broke our necks looking into this resturaunt that had bikini clad waitreses! so we walked on and asked the seater if we could take pics with these special ones that were in the front of the store so she told us to ask them. They said yes so my cuz mal took a pic first. as it was freezing outside we were all in our coats and hats and things so mal started stripping down and making me hold all the stuff and the seater took his pics. but since i'm so cool i just went over there how i was. i was so suave that i knocked over a sign cuz i wasnt looking where i was goin...anyway my pics turned out better because obviously the seater lady didnt know how to work a camera and mal took my pics and it was his camera. anyway, great time, it was my first in times square.

At first I had thought that maybe he had his picture taken in Las Vegas - given the attire of the young ladies, but the winter parka eliminated that possibility !
It must be your smile, Harrison !

I'd be a little careful about putting a potential bird on the back the bike for anything more than an hour or so, because I'm told (by to the wife) that an r65 is not the most comfortable bike to be a passinger.  After killing her old GS450 and before we got her 750 Zephyr we had to go to her dads 60th birthday in France and Fi described the 900 miles over two days to Congnac as one of the most painful experiances of her life. It was pretty painful for me as she decided to take out her sore bottom by regularly walloping me as a reminder that she was on the back or wanted to stop...

I've heard that too!  I had one extended ride with a pillion, back in the day before I had met my now ex-wife.

I was talking to this then-young-lady a couple of years ago, and I brought up the subject of the 300 mile one-way ride we took.  She didn't have pleasant memories...

But I have solved that problem, now!  I no longer have a cushion on the rear!

But I also don't have a running bike. :(

work work work.  Why am I in here when it is warm enough to be in the garage?
