Hello, I have not been active for awhile so I will tell you that I have a 1983 R65LS that I resorted about for years ago (16,500Miles). She is a beauty and up until last week has been running well.
This season ( I live in Maine, USA) her idle has been just a bit too low, running just under 1000RPM. about a week had passed since my last good ride, I decided to reset the idle screws with the engine cold, (3/4 turn out from seat) when went to start it it turned over but would not fire. I pulled the plugs and they were both dry but their coloring was good. I cleaned, re-gaped them, added fresh fuel and checked the cables to be sure they were all seated. Once again she would not fire only turn over.
About three hours later when I went to try again she instantly fired and then just raced towards the red line! I shut her off and the next morning I tried again and the same thing happened!! I waited awhile and tried again and now she is back to turning over but not firing!! Any suggestions of what I should consider doing next? PS the carbs re rebuilt by the dealer in Maine about 7 years ago.
