does anyone have a link to a wiring diagram?
« on: June 07, 2007, 09:18:12 AM »
Hello,

Anyone know of a link to a wiring diagram I can view?

i've been losing my taillight, running lights and instrument lights intermittently (all at the same time).

Thanks.

Sounds like a loose fuse or the wires to/from it.  They are all on the same circuit.  See if there is any corrosion on the fuse clips or connectors as well.

I would check your fuses, also.  I had to replace that very fuse before it would act right.

Everything was fine until I decided to do some maintenance and clean the contacts on the fuses.
Then I sandpapered that fuse and used dialectric grease, but it just would not give me consistancy.
One day on a trip I found myself in a dealership, so I bought a couple of fuses.  I put one in, and my taillight has be working ever since!

Problem solved.  I went through all my wiring a couple of weeks ago, cleaned contacts and applied dialectric grease where I could.  I didn't reconnect the headlight connector tight enough, to that small secondary bulb.  And I finally thought to look in this location while at a rest stop in Nevada a couple of days ago.  It was one of those "Hey, I haven't checked xxxx yet!" moments while my brain was focusing on something else entirely different (lunch).

I'll keep the links to the diagrams for the future, thanks everybody.

The +12v connection to your running light was causing this? :o

That sounds weird.  Unless it was shorting to ground....maybe...
