There is a clunk coming from what feels like the neighborhood of my right heel every time I take off form a stop or shift a bit more abruptly. I am thinking swing arm bearings or u-joint failure. It reminds me of when my u-joint went on my Jeep.

Check the swing arm pivot pin for proper adjustment, and jam nut for security .

You could pull back the rubber boot that covers the u-joint, and check the 4 bolts that hold the drive shaft to the transmission output flange for tightness, or if any are missing .

You can also squeeze through the rubber boot for a quick check of the 4 bolts for tightness.
