My 1980 starts with Full Choke almost all the time and then depending on how cold.
If i'm in the twenties up to about 55 degrees: I let it sit until it starts to run up on its own. Then I turn down the choke and the throttle on its lock till the choke is just above half open. I usually drive off this way. By the time I get to the highway (3 miles) the choke (enrichening circuit) is off and I can drive without pharting.
