1987 R65 mono cafe racer project

Hi everybody i am about to start a project with a 1987 r65.My goal is to build a cafe racer.I want to do conversion from 650cc to 900 or even 1000cc.I know that was a hot settup back in 80s.Also i need a advice for a seat cowl.

The best way to achieve your engine increase is with a straight-out transplant.

Your screen name may be a results forecast of an attempt to hotrod the R65 engine. Many have tried.

The organ transplant would have better odds of achieving a moderately reliable scooter. Remember that the R65 has BMW's short wheelbase chassis so engine/trans combos could be an issue.

A buddy of myne was a racer for BMW in Canada.He said even after the coversion the bike is still reliable and rideble on the streets.The short wheelbase is the trick.The bike is so light and combine with transformed engine is killer :)
