But it's not vacation!

I had surgery on my right foot on Wednesday - bunion and hammer toe caused by torn ligament. The surgeon said that it went really well. That's always nice to hear. But now I'll be off work for 3 1/2 - 4 weeks with my foot up. I've kept the Hydrocodone/acetaminophine levels up to keep the pain levels down. Been sleeping a lot. I think I'll be letting the drugs slide over to just acetaminophine over the next few days. I don't like the side affects. I do like having very little pain though. I will like even better being able to walk with no pain.
When I first got home and got out of the car, I started out on the crutches and immediately got dizzy and nauseus and almost fell over. My foot touched down and I tought I'd blown it. That was pain. I tried to go further and made it as far as a neighbor's pickup, where I laid down in the bed. That was it. Found another neighbor at home and the 2 of them carried me into the house. I never felt so glad to be in my home on my bed.
I tried the crutches another few days, but I always feel like I'm about to fall over. Much harder to use while on drugs and having a cast up to my knee than the practice runs with 2 usable feet, The doc had suggested using something else - a knee scooter. Much more steady and keeps all weight off the foot. So I ordered it. Got it this morning. What a difference! I've got my independence back. [smiley=clap.gif] Between that and getting a laptop set up bedside so I can keep up with you guys, I'm feeling much better.
Now just to let it heal. I've got lots of projects to do while sitting, so the time will go by fast.
Excuse the typos and misspellings. It's either the drugs or this laptop,

Oh yeah! The rambling is probably because of that too.
