thanks for your compliment.  
It´s not very expensive to restore a russian bike. Russian spare parts are very, very cheap. You can´t compare that with BMW parts; neither the prices nor the quality. I´ve paid about 600 $ for all parts.

These carbs are extact copies of the pre-war Graetzin carburators. They are made in China. Both cost less than 100$.

Wow.............. you really did a fantastic job.............. has to make ya feel good! I love to see the old machines brought back to life...saved from the graveyard. You are now a Shaman having conjured a ghost from the past. We are the tribe of ghost riders.
      Hey I have a R27....... 250cc and it is a cool bike for town and not to shabby on the highway. It was made to cruise at the old 55 mph speed limit..........will cruise 60 no problem, just not much steam left for anything like passing.  BMW says it will do 80..........and it would................going down a steep hill with a strong tailwind. But it is really a good bike.........small  nimble, weights about 350 pounds with 18 hp and if your short like me you can get both feet down. Don’t bad mouth those babies they are good bikes. Anyway.......ya did good!

make that a second of green with envy! i love the older looking bmw's. i know i will never be able to have a real one so i hope to get a russian or chinesse copy like yours. you should be proud of the work you did!

Yes, the old single-cylinder BMW´s are nice bikes. And altough they have only 250cc, they´ve got sound like a real big bike. It´s sad how the new generation of BMW-Boxerwork bikes sounds.
