Vacuum Port on Bing 64/32/335 & 6
« on: January 22, 2018, 01:06:31 PM »
Having bit the bullet and replaced the defective Butterfly axle and "O" ring on the left side carburetor I found myself struggling to set the idle and balance the carbs.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, I  seem to have set the idle mixture (3/4 turn) and set the idle to 1250 RPM (per the tacho).

However I was thinking of trying to balance the carbs with some kind of manometer, but cannot seem to find any vacuum ports on these Bings. I have read somewhere that all the post '80 Bings have ports, but I do not seem to see them.

Am I going blind? Do I need to buy some ports from the Bing Agency and retro fit them??

Any and all help appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

If you have them they should look like this. The vacuum port is the nearest stub on this right hand carb. On a left hand carb the vacuum port will be on the inside of the mixture screw instead of the outside.

You have to  watch the   balance  of  the carbs at the same time  you  set idle speed
