Enricher circuit cable

I am in the process of removing anything not absolutely necessary on my R65LS. I have replaced the clutch perch with one that does nor have a "choke" lever. I want to install a simple wire pull on each carburetor for the "choke". When I check the parts fiche at Real OEM and Max BMW I show a solid wire choke cable and a clamping bolt, pn 13 11 9 057 338.

I have not been able to find anything that shows how mine is currently configured.

I currently have a twisted wire choke cable (single wire to a splitter, then one wire to each carb) with a molded connector on the cable that fits a slotted barrel connector on the carburetor "choke" connector (no clamping bolt, just cable tension to hold it in place). I have not been able to find the current configuration on the parts fiche even though I have searched all models, both R65 and others.

What I would like to know is if I need to order a different choke lever for the carb or just the clamping bolt pn 13 11 9 057 338.

The clamping nuts & bolts are not easy to find.
I looked for them when I converted mine as you are describing.

I ended up [carefully] J B Welding the tip of the rod in the slot of the piece that rotates in the enricher arm.  I hope that makes sense.  I don't think I took any pictures of it - it was a bodge - nothing to brag on.  But it got the job done!

The important thing about doing it this way is to make sure the "barrel" can still rotate in the arm.

I'm guessing you know that the parts diagram is for the 78-80 model that used solid wire to enable push pull operation with no return springs. The clamping bolt from that set up would work fine with Rob's type of actuators.  If you were thinking of finding a place to mount that early type of choke lever bear in mind the solid wire is stiff as hell and won't like very tight bends.

You could make clamping bolts by cross drilling through the shaft of a short bolt.  The clamping bolts are similar in principle to pedal cycle brake cable anchors so that might be an alternative source.

In looking closer what I actually have on my Bings is a double lever for the choke. The cable has a soldered on barrel, similar to the end of the clutch cable, that sits in a hole on both levers with the cable coming out in between. Not sure if a clamping bolt would work with the two sided lever.

I think it's time to raid the parts bins at my local bicycle shop and see what I can find.

I believe I bought my bodge version from Hucky's - 13 11 1 335 315 and $16 each...

He has some other parts, too.  You might try the used parts outlets for the old style that actually clamped through a hole.  The one's Hucky's sells are open on one side, allowing the wire to come out - hence the epoxy.  I'm not sure how they are supposed to work OEM style.
(My '79 had the control on the side of the airbox.)
