New to me Oil filter Source.
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:47:30 PM »
I got got caught out doing an oil change with out a spare filter on the shelf.  (Monday)

After calling about I found Napa had the bendy filter for about $10.  The NAPA number is PS4945 and includes the $5000 dollar o-ring, a shim, filter cover gasket (which I throw in the trash) and a oil drain washer.

When I picked up the filter, the fine print on the side said basically "made by Wix".  Which set off my alarm bells because the last Wix filter I tried had hard plastic ends that wouldn't fit inside the oil filter canister and I ended up throughing it away.

I happy to report that Wix has changed the end to a softer rubber material and it fits perfectly.

With the $2 off the Valvolene VR-1 Racing oil at Autozone I did the whole change for about $20.

Not bad  8-)

Not bad at all, Bill. Saved you some beer money and that's always a good thing. [smiley=beer.gif]
