Probably a little bit - But I have a bar running between the shock mounts that the saddle sits on.

When I refresh this bike - as it has been 10 years since I first did it, I will probably re-instate the hoop.  But it will be kicked up slightly to pick up the mudguard near its current location, following the line of the bottom edge of the saddle.  That way I will also have a more solid mount for my number plate and rear light.

Either that or I am going to mount the rear mudguard directly onto the swing arm - hugger style.
