Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the reply and link, I'd seen them pop up a few times in

other forum chats and had completely forgot.

To gaiter or not to gaiter that is the question............

Well Bruce i guess its a personal thing, but there's also a few

unsurfaced roads near  ( nothing crazy  ) me which i wouldn't mind

checking out and i don't want dust going where it isn't invited.

Thanks again for the reminder.

Merry Xmas to you and everyone who has offered me assistance

Regards

If you do go for the gaiters, look for a small drain hole at one end, the 13 rib boots that I got had them, about a 3 mm or so hole, easy to miss if you're not looking for them .

Place them at the bottom for drainage, if moisture happens to get in there .

I lost one fork leg to scratching.  Luckily it was while the bike was under warranty.  From that day on, I knew fork gaiters would always be a part of my motorcycling.

I have 11 rib gaiters on mine and don't see how I could fit anything more. Mine have the small hole on the top end of the gaiter, the end that fits the fork tube instead of the end that fits the fork leg. I was told to drill a small hole through the bottom of the triple tree and insert a roll pin in the triple tree hole and the gaiter hole. To allow air passage after the gaiter is compressed and keep the gaiter from collapsing when the fork rebounds.
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.
