Re: This ad from IBMWR Marketplace... Has anyone installed a voltmeter on their R65... And was it helpful..? On my last Japanese motorcycle I had one of the little LED (red-yellow-green) devices, and it providede the illusion of security on the road...

The stock voltmeter gets pretty bad press as being inaccurate.  I don't know if this is the fault of the meter or how it is wired in.  It need to run off a switched 12V source so I guess it's possible that all of the connection resistance in the circuit could cause it to read lower than it should.  A good approach to get full battery power to a meter would be to use a relay that is actuated only when the switch is in the "ON" position and having the relay shoot straight "battery" voltage to the meter.
