My turn this month to lead the club ride....
« on: May 14, 2007, 06:00:05 AM »
I volunteered to lead the club ride for May, so Britta and I (with new speedo in place, hopefully) will be leading the pack up into NC to Cherokee, home of the Indian reservation and Harrah's casino.  (No gambling on this trip, however.)  The first half of the trip will be a really nice curvy and twisty route up Hwy 28 N. to Cherokee, and then we'll get some chow in town and after a break will head on back to Greenville.  The route is about 240 miles round trip, but will be about a good 8 hour trip from start to finish.  (The route up to Cherokee is quite curvy!)

Last year, when I led a club ride, Britta was the smallest bike in the pack, up against R1150RTs, 1150GSs, naked R1100s, and a couple of R100s and K-bikes.  She held her own, though.  And she is in MUCH better shape for this particular ride!

I'll get some pics taken during the trip to post afterwards.  I'm looking forward to this Sunday!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

John, unless someone's straightened those roads with Harrah's Casino money, they are way twisty as I recall.
The ol' R65 oughtta lay waste to the bigger, heavier sleds in those kinda curves.
Sounds like a good ride: have fun! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
