Back On The Road!

Had the bike back for two weeks now, managed to get two shake-down rides in with a couple of issues;

poor cold starting
Fast idle/rough running
Terrible brakes (front)

Need to get used to warming the old girl up as she doesn't like being cold, very pleased with fit/finish other than clock set & h/bar assemblies (next winter project).

List of things done;

Complete nut/bolt stripdown
All black parts powdercoated
S/S fasteners used throughout
All alloy/Alu parts (including engine casings & snowflakes) vapour blasted
Engine 'zero' hour unit
Upgraded electrics, bean can and diode board gone
New bearings throughout
New s/motor
New clutch
Progressive springs/now rear shocks
New battery & tender
Carbs stripped & cleaned
Brakes stripped, overhauled, new pads/shoes, S/S lines, new M/C
All bodywork painted in original colour with hand painted coach lines by Dream works
Seat unit refurb and re-cover
Avon R/Runner tyres
H/Grips

Hope you agree, she looks good, just need to get her running well...

Oh,

Had to show you the license plate, you can imagine the comments so far from friends and family, feel free to add your own, should be amusing...

Nice plate!  Is that original?  I wonder if the DVLA would even issue that these days.  They withhold certain letter / number combinations if they might be considered offensive - and even have the power to withdraw some if the miss it.
I used to to work on the AFRL system for a car maker and remember in the lead up to the March plate change in 2002 (when the plates changed from 51 to 02)

We had a dealer in the North West who had been issued a series of PO 02 XXX plates and customers were complaining that they didn't want poo on their new cars!

Not sure if they actually withdrew the VRN's but the dealers were given the option to reject that batch and be issued another.
