Harley Davidson Road King

As most of you know I've just done a guided motorcycle tour of Route 66 and my mount for the trip was a 2015 Road King. As a bike it would not be practical over here in the UK, but for riding in a group (all Harley mounted) it was brilliant.

If a Beemer had been cheaper (it was a $1000 more to hire than the Harley) I probably would have gone for a 1200GS and not have had as much fun, mostly because the riding speed of the group would have been 10 mph to slow for the comfortable cruising speed of the GS. Any way I made a little head cam video of my thoughts on the Harley.

Good Video Tony....... those Harleys do have their place in this world

I've owned a Buell with a 1203 Harley Sportster motor and I have to say it had the most useful power band of any engine I've owned. A pleasure to ride. I would not hesitate to latch on to another older Buell if one came up in my price range, just because of the motor.

My son using my Buell to go to work............ if you have good speakers on your PC turn them up and it sounds like heaven.

Harleys have their place, on open roads, not a good choice for urban riding / commuting .

If you want to put a lot of road behind you in one day, they are in their element there !!!!
