It's all finished!! This project has really been a blast bringing a 1974 Yamaha TY250A back to life. Picked it up at Barber's Vintage Swap Fest last October. It was coated in crusted red Georgia mud. Tore it down to the frame for a rebuild. I didn't want to go the powder coat route on this bike since I intend it to just be a play bike. Over the winter I did the painting. Had the cylinder bored one over with a new Wesco piston and needle bearings. New items include: Mikuni carb, Domino throttle, kill switch, Uni foam air filter, RK racing chain, clutch friction plates & springs, brake shoes front & rear, tires & tubes, and aftermarket fenders. Like most restos I have a lot more in than the value of the bike, but I intend to use it for a play bike and work on handling skills. Besides, it's fun to get dirty every once in a while.
Monte and I are off to Barbers again in a couple of weeks and while I can't speak for him, I don't intend to bring back a full bike, maybe I'll pick up some spares, but you never know.... [smiley=camera_sm.jpg]
