It was the Lario over here as well. But you do not see many around. Seems to have been reserved for the wives of the Le-mans owners.
You see far more Monza's. Supposed to handle very well. But the finish could not stay the distance in the UK with our salty roads and rain.
I looked at one a couple of years ago, after admiring them from afar. But when I went to see the one in question at a local dealer, it was 'not quite the ticket'. Overpriced project if I ever saw one - needed a full strip and paint. And the instruments and switch gear seemed to be a bit 'Micky Mouse'.
Never been that struck on the styling of the 80's/90's Guzzi's - later Sp's and Le-Mans's were ruined. I do like the T3/S3 and the Mk1 Le-mans. I thought the Monza would have been another contender for a Cafe Racer, instead of my R65, but I would have been throwing even more away than I did on my cafe racer! And I stumbled across an R65 first.
It was not till they bought in the V11 and the 1100 Sport that I started to look at Guzzi's again. Took a V11 out for a test drive, and was the nearest I ever have been to signing on the dotted line for a new bike - for the original green/red V11. But the dealer insulted me on my trade in and we could not close the deal. Had £7000 in my pocket and he could not see himself clear to pick it - Muppet. It does not happen often - and hasn't happened since - new bathroom then!
Hey ho!
