If there were any "snow birds" left in town, that forecast should just about finish them off.

Too brutal for me also. I told the Company that I work for that I was never going to take another job in Phoenix from May to October

Yah but think of the money you will save on charcoal or gas for the grill. No need, just set the steaks outside on a platter and come back in 10 minutes and dinner is done.  ;D
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

Damn, Bob, I'm sure glad I don't live there!  Texas is about as hot as I can stand.  That's weird, Phoenix being so far north, I don't remember it getting that hot at Ft. Huachuca while I was stationed there...

Sierra Vista, AZ. is at a little over 4400 feet in elevation .
That makes a big difference in temperature .
Phoenix is at 1100 feet .

I was just reminiscing of the Army days at the Fort there. Still drunk at breakfast, sober by noon and do it all over again. That's back in the day when you wouldn't drink a Dos XX if you were down to your last $0.17...... pure swill

Pretty nice place once you manned up that you were in the middle of nowhere. Deer grazing in the morning, Bird Sanctuary's and lots of History with Tombstone AZ a stone's throw away.......

Naco?  One of  the first things they told us during in-processing was, "DON'T GO TO NACO!!!!"  Of course, we all went the first chance we got.  Didn't stay long, just in and out so we could say we had been there.  Probably the only town I felt half-way comfortable in was Agua Prieta.  Some of the off the path neighborhood bars were quite friendly.  I remember getting sauced on Tres X beer and having the hershy squirts for a couple days after sobering up.  Talk about a colon cleanser...  :o

I was only there for about 6 months going to school on the infrared stuff in Mohawks.  Went back about a year later for some update training.  Never really liked "Sorry Visit" very much...

Tires stick like velcro, but the real concern, is the ' tar snakes ' .

Those will get your attention in an instant .

How do the airheads handle the heat at stoplights?

If you have a lot of stop lights, low speeds, not a good idea to use the airheads .

I have a temp indicating oil dip stick and the oil temp goes up pretty fast once the bike is up to operating temperature and you stop for a few minutes .

I only use the airheads on weekends to work, of if a major hoilday falls in my work week, no congested traffic .

I would like to use full synthetic oil in the airheads, but I tried Mobil 1 for motorcycles in 1999 and the real main seal started leaking in a few hundred miles .

So I switched to semi-synthetic and no issue until a few  months ago, main seal is seeping again .

I need to use premium fuel in the hot weather as well, as the pinging, or pinking on even medium acceleration .
