The original R65 and R65LS OEM pannier frames were the same item. The difference was that the R65 back rack that went across the rear of the seat fairing would not fit on the LS due to its different profile.
It appears that your pannier frame and back rack are non-OEM. An OEM pair of panniers will fit on both.
I have no experience with the earlier Krauser style of pannier and their frames, so cannot comment. I am told by a long time BM friend who imports racks/bags, etc, that Krauser style of panniers are still made. (The Krausers are the skinnier ones)
When looking at pannier frames, they crack when the lower leg joins the frame directly behind the rear shock absorber. Very obvious if this is the case. Easiest solution is to weld a gusset into that area. Also the frames require a lower brace welded between both pannier frames at the rear to assist with this. As some one who went on all the rough roads with overloaded panniers (as you do in Oz) these are simple fixes to prevent problems when a loooong way from home.
The latches which attach the pannier to the frame have a double claw type arrangement and these wear and the panniers being a loose fit rattle, and it just gets worse causing them to fracture. One broken, is okay but both will cause pannier to fall off. The remedy to this is to fix a strap around the pannier to the frame/seat to keeping it solid to PREVENT movement and damage. I think the latches came with a rubber insert originally but may be mistaken.
When BMs were packed in their crate for transport and sale they were tied down with two 1 inch wide white straps which were just the thing for holding on the panniers. A bit of pain when travelling to access the inside of panniers but less worry about panniers removing themselves in flight.
I hope this info helps.
