Out of Hibernation
« on: March 10, 2015, 09:08:06 PM »
Hi all,

haven't been around much lately.  I quit smoking cigarettes in October and got really irritable for a month or so (or more!).  Then I left my job working on old British sports cars as the shop was really running like a semi-funded hobby business and I finally admitted that I needed a real job.  At least I went out with a bang, finishing up with an early Jaguar E-type.

Found a real job working in a small engine/outdoor power equipment shop in December, but was down to working 22hrs a week by January because it was slow... we didn't have any snow  :D

Snow came, and came some more, and then again.  By February work went to overtime and I further made up for some lost wages by putting my 1964 Ariens to work and also did a little snowblower repair.   Oh, and then there was helping my brother, who just bought a house, build a shed.  That's right, build a 15x8 foot fully insulated shed, over dirt, ice, and packed snow, surrounded by 3 foot snow banks, in one of the coldest, snowiest Februaries ever.

Finally caught a much needed break last weekend and went out with some friends for Barley therapy.  Whew!  Should be 60F tomorrow and partly sunny.  I'm really jonesin to get out on the LS but it probably won't happen... not to worry, as it looks like this coming weekend will bring more snow  >:(

Every time I see these threads about winter conditions, it reaffirms my decision 22 years ago, to move to a warmer climate . ::)

Talk to us in August, Bob.

Though even I can't complain about this winter.  Not for the past month or two.

All in all life has improved.

Should start hanging parts on the K100RS soon with these overtime paychecks, and I got to take the LS out today when I went to my brother's to help fill the shed with the contents of a 2 car garage.

Oh, and not to disappoint; we did get a touch of snow.

48F and sunny tomorrow--that's tee-shirt weather around here!
