Riding through India - Some info if you can
« on: March 08, 2014, 08:15:04 PM »
I'm thinking of riding through India in Late Nov to Dec. Cooler months. Fly into Delhi. Buy a second hand Enfield. then ride south to Agra, west to Gajner, Joghpur, then down to Udaipur. Want to see and stay at some of the beautiful Rajasthan lake and hill Palaces that dot the area, which are now hotels. Then it would be down to Ahmedabad. Onto Surat and finally Mumbai.
I think it will be about 1500 - 1700 km's.

Would love to hear from people who have done something similar. What sort of daily clicks I can expect. Must see things. Places to stay. And general tie bits of info people might like to share.

Thanks

A friend of mine has been on several motorcycle tours in India, he always rides with an organised group has been in several "Scrapes" usually there will be about 10 riders with a support vehicle, the bikes are usually Enfield's which are hired as part of the package which includes insurance and accommodation etc. Based on his experience I would not undertake a trip there without that kind of support.

I am sure it will be an adventure in any case.   From what I hear, it could be exciting, or scarey, or both!   But, I have absolutely no first hand experience of it to share.   Best of luck to you! :)

Why should he be different to the 300,000,000 permanent residents who have never had a solid bowel movement?
