With all the rainy weather we have been having it was nice to have a nice weekend. Temps in the high 60's and blue skies.
A local independent shop I frequent was having a 3rd anniversary. The place is called Ton Up Jacksonville,
www.tonupjax.com , and is a neat shop. The owner stocks basic maintenance parts for a lot of bikes and will order anything you need. He has rental service bays and tools for the do-it-yourself folks as well as an onsite mechanic for those that don't want to do-it-themselves. He hosts a Sunday morning ride from the bagel/coffee shop down the street and the first Friday evening of each month has a social gathering complete with a different local food truck and movies on the side of the building. The neat part is everyone is welcome and you never know what will ride up.
As part of the 3rd anniversary he held a Customer Appreciation Bike Show with a small trophy for Best European, Best Japanese, Highest Mileage and Peoples Choice. A really nice Honda CB won Best Japanese, a Triumph Speed Triple won Best European and a local Iron Butt rider won highest mileage with a 2010 R1200 GS with 126,000 miles on it. (My butt hurts just thinking about it.) I ended up with the Peoples Choice trophy for my modified R65LS and am still smiling. It was nice to be recognized by a very diverse group of riders.
