I'm talking toasters, waffle irons, ironing irons, etc and... my new coffee pot. No need to ask. It's a
Mr Coffee and only a few months old.
The "ON" button recently got all stuck and wanky. Press hard. Maybe it'll come on or maybe it'll break. Better yet, lets open up the sucker and see what's what -probably fix that push button easy.
WTF is it with these tiny, non-removable screws installed by the off-shore manufacturers? All I want to do is take a peek at the button function; not steal some proprietary electronic design. It's just makes coffee. Doesn't interface with some Patriot missile battery. Grrrr
Got a couple out through brute force and a pointy screwdriver but a couple more challenged me. Resistance is futile...
Drilled into the screw heads enough to allow 'purchase' and backed out the remaining screws. Gathered them all and actually threw them out into the back yard.
And the stuck button? Simply a small spur on the plastic tube-within-tube design whereby a plunger pokes a small button mounted on the PC board. Trim, clean and done. Now works better than new and I have my coffee.
Hmmm... could be my lack of caffine?
When I become King, all this will change.
