Curious how our old ways come back. My mother (born in 1911) drove a lot in the 1930s, often in a Willys Overland, and through the 60s and 70s always liked to be driven at around 40 mph -- regular speed in the 30s -- although she no longer drove herself. Through the 60s and 70s I toured a lot on my BSA 650 which was happy, loaded up two plus luggage, at 55 - 60 mph and guess what, that's the speed I'm comfortable at now. Then I overtook most stuff on the road, now they overtake me! As Shel Silverstein used to sing: Time, Time, Time....
