It called the "The Rising Universe" or "The Shelley Fountain" and it's in Horsham Sussex.

I confess that I Googled "spherical sculptures" and would feel guilty if it wasn't for the fact it's so damn obscure that no one would ever have guessed what it was. I've read all about it and still don't really understand - Monte was very perceptive.

All I can say about the picture, is that no matter where you are, you can't escape the 'bad influence' of US fast food !!!!

Well my first thought did result in a slap from the wife as it seems i have a habit of opening my mouth without putting my brain in gear .... Apparently its an interpretation of Shelley,s writings and thoughts about rebirth and the importance of water to life and the Universe... good to know that in these times of austerity tax payers money is being well spent in Horsham even if educated folk in Cambridge were unable to understand the cultural importance of Shelley's poetry resulting in it being "relocated"
Whatever you think of it, it is thought provoking to stand and watch it in action but more folk were attracted to McDonald's than the sculpture it seems burgers have had a larger impact on humanity than the writings of our forefathers.

This is borne out simply by visiting any A&E (ER to our American cousins) on any day...

Pls don't ask about progress... >:(
