Lost a buddy
« on: June 18, 2012, 09:02:38 AM »
A good friend, former co-worker and motorcycling buddy has passed away from a heart attack.

Steve Beck kept a magnificent R100S. I was always offering him excessive amounts of money if he would only sell me the scooter. Told him he could still ride his fine, vintage Kawa Z1. All I ever got in response was a hearty laugh. Steve knew how to make people laugh.

Well educated, unafraid to speak his thoughts and a non-starter with any of the compuKer-world items, Steve was a true Luddite.

Beck, as everyone called him, was 55 years old. Vaya con Dios, my friend.

Sorry for your loss, monte.   :'(

We lost a friend last Thursday.  She was a motorcyclist and I really believe her motorcycle wreck MANY years ago was the beginning of all her health troubles.  She was a real trooper, but finally decided it was time to stop all the treatments and just let it be.  She fought a long, hard battle, but it's over now.  She was only 60.

I'm afraid the older I get, the more often I'll experience these losses.

Saddened to hear of your loss, my best friend died of a heart attack a few years back, he was stood chatting with me next thing he was on the floor he had no history of heart trouble but the medics said he was probably dead before he hit the floor, it was the worst day i have ever had.

Sorry to hear of your friends passing .

I haven't been great with keeping in touch with the few friends that I had in the Chicago area, left there 19 years ago and never been back since .

Every once in a while I'll get a notification, that so-and-so, died of heart failure, or a stroke a few years ago .

Kinda gets you a bit concerned, I'll be 56 in August, with lots of history of heart problems and stroke on both sides of the family .

My physician said the last check up, that I'm probably looking at a pacemaker in the  future .
