Posting Profile Picture
« on: October 16, 2011, 11:58:30 AM »
I've been trying to load a picture to show up in your profile, can't seen to get it right .

I've resized the picture on Photobucket to the smallest of their common sizes .

There are four addresses next to picture, I have tried loading them into the first box that starts with http, still no good .

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong ?

I just checked my profile pic. Looks like you load the pic from your PC and not a HTTP site, like you would if you were inserting a pic.

Photo size should not be more than 100KB, .jpg or .jpeg format is best, load from your desk top.

You've probably already tried these points, so somebody out there brighter than us -perhaps a 14 year-old kid- can help out. :)

I just tried it from the My Pictures, on my computer, it said I needed to resize it, I'll try to get it down to a proper size .

I uploaded mine from my pc.  IT does need to be sized quite small - I think it is on the order of 320x320 or something like that.   I have some basic photo editing software that came with my digital camera years ago that  I used to resize it.

Bob, look into the free Irfanview software (for a PC).  It will do what you need.

Hey Bob,

I think I remember when I loaded my picture the key was that I had to resize it to 25 pixels x 25 pixels, rather than size (100 kb).

Try that?

Good luck!
