Head & Cylinder Machine Work
« on: March 25, 2010, 03:34:22 PM »
All,
Curious if any of you have sent any Heads and/or Cylinders out to be worked on for any type of service or machine work since November of 2009.

If so, can you let me know where you sent them and to whom?  I'm trying to respectfully and patiently gather some information.

If you have any rants or adverse personal opinions on quality, cost, service, or time of abscence it can be discussed off list if you wish. Specifically; time of abscence and communication in regards to the vendor. By time of abscence I mean the amount of time it took to get the work done and repaired parts back after initial shipment.

I have a "situation" currently brewing but want to maintain respect and protection towards the well-known vendor.

Just north of you, in the SF area - Bob Grauer.  It was more than a couple of years ago, though, but his turn-around time was excellent (less than two weeks).  He is retired, and heads are about the only thing he works on, anymore.

They cost me around $500.  See my WWW for pictures.

Even though I have never met Bob, I consider him to be a close, personal friend!

Thanks Rob,
If I had it to do all over again...that's where I would have had the work done. Hindsight.  I've heard nothing but good reports about his (Grauer) work.
