Water water everwhere...
« on: September 21, 2009, 12:45:44 PM »
...and some of it stinks!  In one road near my house where the water runs over you can smell the sewage!

The R65 has been parked for my last two trips to work.  In its place I have been driving the old 1966 Volvo 120.

My caution has been rewarded by two white knuckle rides up the perimeter interstate in driving vengeful rain, being passed by speeding trucks trying their best to look like a cigarette boats.  At times I have struggled through the ponding water at as slow as 20 miles per hour.  I can't say it was truly dark except for the flash blindness cause by almost continuous lightning.  This last week has left me with rain PTSS.

I'm riding this afternoon even if it pouring.   :P

Surly the reservoirs will soon be all full again and we can go back to our normal riding patterns please.

I've been watching the Weather Channel the last few days, and the Atlanta metro area, just can't get any relief from these rains .

It's rained here at my residence 4 times this year, 1.75 in (4.5 cm) of precipitation so far this year, at least according to the electronic rain gauge in the backyard .

Last time the R65 got washed, was the last week of May this year, and it's starting to show a light coat of dust .

The oilhead got washed when it was in the dealer for repairs, after it got backed into in February, 7 months ago, it's about the same as the R65 .

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

It wasn't very long ago, that it looked like the Atlanta metro area would have no potable water left !

Amazing how things can change so quickly !

Have you looked into possibly converting the R65 into an amphibious vehicle ?
