....apart from a scenic tour of area 51 is there anything of interest in the area. He,s not a biker but will have transport and directions to any good golf courses would probably be appreciated ....ta
Lou

Anything of interest in Palmdale???  LOL!!!  Being as I lived up the street in California City, I can tell ya, there ain't much. I don't know squat didly about golfing, but there is a course in Cal City and a couple in Tehachapi. Might even be a couple in Palmdale/Lancaster.

There is nature stuff at the Poppy reserve.  They aren't in bloom this time of year, but its still open:

If he's into airplanes he can take a glider ride or go parachuting Cal City and Tehachapi and Mojave.  Burt Rutan's shop is at Mojave and there is also the aircraft 'Boneyard' there as well.

There are numerous places to go hiking: Red Rock Canyon SP, about an hour north and Devils Punchbowl, just south east.

Death Valley is nice, but its gonna be miserable hot this time of year, as someone has already pointed out.

There is Six Flags Magic Mountain over in Valencia (take Hwy 14 east to I-5 then north a few miles)

Nice scenic drive over Angeles Forest Highway towards Pasadena, where he can take in the Norton Simon and a couple of other neato museums and a boatload of nice restaurants.  Then take Angeles Crest Highway to Wrightwood and then the Pearblossom Hwy back to Palmdale.

Speaking of black projects, I was relaxing in my backyard one night and noticed a set of lights moving at a high rate of speed north-eastbound from Edwards AFB.  All of a sudden the lights just stopped, and then went 'up' 90 degrees from the direction they were headed in.  Next day I asked a couple of AF pilots I knew, they wanted to know why I was outside at 3 am.  Hmmm..never told them what time I was out there.   :-X

YES!

Bill, I thought you had her phone number.  Sue, do you have it?  I know Melena called Sue when she was traveling to the National's back in July.  But that's the last I've heard.   :(
