Please pray for our spineless goverment
« on: March 25, 2009, 01:25:57 PM »
Well, our country is facing just another international embarressment - caused by our current goverment.

In the latest incident, our goverment has denied a visiting visum to  the Dalai Lama - one of the most pieceful individuals, (and Christian) on this planet.

The Dalai Lama was suppose to attend a local international peace conference - which will now probably be cancelled, because of the visa denial, and an international condemnation from countries all over the world about the incident. And - as usual, our goverment issued a very "intellegent" explanation........which  does not make any sence at all.

That was pretty weird.  I read that Bishop Tutu (sorry if I misspelled his name) is boycotting the thing over that.  I'm not sure what good peace conferences are though.

Yes, once again politics and international trade trumps altruistic peace-making - and Africa could really use some more peace.

One step forward, a generation of steps back.

You are right Danie.  The explanation doesn't make any sense at all.  Is anyone in any government actually thinking out there?   :-?

Well, thank God for pressure groups, the press, and individuals  across the globe who are not scared to raise their voices when it's really needed.

What absolute balderdash!

More likely to be no more cheap, shoddy, Chinese-made goods for the masses!

Jeez Danie, I'm beginning to feel as sorry for you guys as I am for us guys, north of you!

Sorry to admit Colin, we seem to on our way to become just another "Banana Republic" - like the one across our northern borders.

On the positive side, we seem to have at least one Minister with high moral values in our goverment. Our new Minister of Health (Barbara Hogan) has now openly critisized her own political party about the Dalai Lama issue - but according to local newspapers, she will now probably be fired as Minister.
