Sorry to hear, Steve.  I have o.k. teeth with a whole bunch of heavy metals in them.  Lately ice cream has been a drag...

But I love my dentist.  He is one of the reasons I wouldn't want to live too far from Indy.  Same goes (more-fold) for my dental-hygenist, Corinne, whom I have seen regularly since sometime around 1983.  I borrowed her name for my daughter!  :D
Dr. Rice used to work in a bicycle shop when he was in college.  He can lace a wheel!  A great guy.  I fear the day he retires.  We are all getting older, and he is older than me.  He closes shop in the winter every year and takes the office and spouses to the Caribbean.
I hope I stay employed...

Kinda sadistic of the ba$tard to do that amount of work and at least not give you some drugs that would make it worthwhile!  >:(

Just reading this thread is giving me an anxiety attack!

I'm am the world's biggest sissy when it comes to visiting a dentist. My wife will drive me to the office and accompanies me to help keep me calmed down; even though my dentist gives me some premeds that send me off to la-la land before I hit the office door.

Bridges and crowns last time. This smiley fits my post-dental  [smiley=1drink.gif]

My dentist is really pretty and has small hands.   :D  Yes, I deliberately picked the only female name out of the local yellow pages.

I am going to be out about 1500 dollars in dental bills this year.  I'm not sure the R65 heads will get done.

I could have had dental insurance but the premiums would have cost me about 1500 dollars a year, and it only pays half of my bill anyway.

Yeah Ed, I've had 2 female doctors like that, with small hands: very important when it's time for that "special" exam! :o

But in my dentist's defense, he did all he could, but the area he was working in just refused to go numb. He'd start grinding, a lightning bolt would blow the top of my head off and he'd have to stop, then another shot, wait, more grinding, more lightning, etc etc...
After 7 injections, he was finally able to finish his work and I was okay with it, at least until the novacain (sp?) began to wear off that evening. Then it was the headache from hell for that night and much of the next day.

Of course the best news is that I get to have another tooth similarly ground & crowned in less than 2 weeks!  :'(
