I went for a ride last Saturday...
« on: December 28, 2007, 09:39:10 PM »

Weather permitting, I will ride it to a gun show on Sunday to help spread the word, and then downtown to the circle for a march and sign waving on Monday.  Maybe Tuesday, as well!

Work?

These two 4-day weekends in a row are really messing with my internal clock!

I think Christmas and New Years should be moved to warm-weather months!

Are you renting out campaign ad-space on your R65 ?   Good thing you got those leg shields - they add significantly more prime ad-aspace... Just think of what you could do if you fitted an RT fairing onto that R65 ? :D
 ;)

Actually, Ron Paul is gaining in popularity up here in NH, though I think he will still finish pretty far back in the pack on Jan 8th.
Nonetheless, his philosophy is the most truly "libertarian" of all the candidates, and the libertarians are relatively strong in my state.
I know that I can find myself in strong agreement with many of RP's positions, but I am not sure if I'll end up voting for him or not.
Certainly, most / all of the alternative choices in the GOP are not my cup of tea this go-round..

I'd love to go out and ride if I could, but this is the 3rd snowiest December on record up here since 1879 or something, and between the snow and ice on the 3/4 mile of dirt road between me and the nearest asphalt I couldn't make it to bare blacktop without digging myself out of some snowbanks....    another argument in favor of getting a sidecar setup !

Pretty well, Justin!

I got them set to where they didn't foul the handgrips at full lock, and then I went and added the brush guards...  But they don't hit much, and the alternative is not good. (freezing hands)

They work real well at keeping my lower legs dry in the rain.

I was all ready to remove them when it got warm, but now with the campaign...

Might be interesting if Ron Paul makes it to the white house, his son has been my family doctor for ten years now and is a really great guy.

I could see Ron Paul raising some pretty bright kids!

Neat item, Lowen!  Thanks!

Hey, Rob, what happened to your small windshield you had on your bike?  :-?

It sat on the shelf for a long time, until I put on the brush guards, at which time I removed the Tracy fairing (temporarily).  But the fairing would not go back on with the brush guards, and it was noisy anyway, so I think it will soon be for sale.

In the meantime, I had more Ron Paul campaigning to do, so I reinstalled the windshield with the abbreviated dash panel to try and block some of the frigid temps here right now.

I figure I will give the windshield another chance going into Spring, and see where it goes from there.

I have plans to invest in a new seat...
