Feasting On Asphalt
« on: July 30, 2007, 10:59:53 PM »
I don't know if you a aware of a program on the Food Channel, it's called 'Feasting On Asphalt', the host, Alton Brown is a renowned chef somewhere ( damned if I now where !),  but he and his com-padres are in search of ' Road Food' across America. The unique thing about this, is that they are riding BMW motorcycles, OK they are oilhead bikes, but BMW's none the less. It's somewhat interesting to say the least bit.

Sounds a little like the UK telly program called the Hairy bikers cookbook.

New episodes start on either Aug 9 or 10 on the food channel. Last season Alton crashed his bike and I think he broke his wrist. He could have ended it right there but chose to stick it out in the truck the rest of the trip. The show was really enjoyable from the pigs feet in the Carolinas to the coffee made from ice atop Pikes Peak. Good show, check it out.....Dew.

Caught Feasting On Asphalt and thought it was a good show, I'll be watching more of it. Got a chuckle out of the Hairy Bikers listing on BBC and it made me start to list other food/bike combos
Biker Billy
The two Fat Ladies (New Triumph w/side car)
Sandra Lee (did a H.D. BBQ thing last night)
Biker Chef
Seems the older I get the more I plan my day around food.

I think he will be riding a new K1200R Sport for the new season.  He was interviewed in a recent issue of the BMW Owner's News and he was talking about how much he was hooked on the new K bike.  I want to see him cook something on the engine!  (He says he's done it several times before!)  ;D

And you're right - It's a good show, too!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
