Damn, it's going to be 80 degrees and sunny outside today, and what will I be doing all day long? Watching movies, that's what.
I have a term paper due on Monday in my "Film as Art" class, and for some unknown reason, I chose to write mine on the "Film Noir" genre. I have no idea why I chose this topic, either. Most of the really famous ones were done back in the 30s, 40s and 50s. There have been a few newer ones as well, but the biggest ones were the old "back and white ones". I have to compare at least four movies in this catagory, and so far and only watched one, entitled,
"Double Indemnity" (1944), starring Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck, and Edward G. Robinson.
Today, I have to watch
"The Maltese Falcon" (1944) starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor. The last two movies on the list are at least a little more recent,
"Chinatown"(1974) starring Jack Nicholson and Fay Dunaway (which I have seen before, but it was years ago), and
"L.A. Confidential" (1997) starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Danny DeVito and (the beautiful) Kim Basinger. And THEN, I get to sit down and start writing!
Give me strength...... :-/
(Oooh, just noticed... My 300th post. Damn, I spend
way too much time hanging out here!
