RIP Monte Miller
« on: February 14, 2019, 10:52:34 AM »
This morning I received a call from our good friend Monte Miller's wife Lynn to tell me that this morning Monte passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a heart attack.  Monte was a wealth of information to the Airhead community and he will be missed by all.  I plan to call on Lynn and the family later today and when I have more information I will pass it along.  - Mike Crenshaw

Very sad news indeed.

We've missed his input here and I always thought he would be back posting on the forum one day.

I didn't know him personally, just from here and another online group.  You're correct, a wealth of information and he shared a ton of it.

I didn't know anything else about him but assumed he was active and healthy.  What a shame.  I was also hoping he would come back and post here again.  Bummer.

Very sad news.

Like Barry, I  had thought Monte would amble back to the Forum one day. He was our "Will Rodgers" with his home spun humor. He was certainly missed by me these last couple of years and now forever...................

I've been in touch with Lynn, Aida.  She's still trying to process this as you can well imagine.  Two years ago my wife Theresa passed away from metastatic breast cancer but we knew it would happen.  It's different when it happens so suddenly.  Here is a link to Monte's obituary.

And a favorite photo of Monte.

I first "met" Monte here on this forum and went on to meet him and Mike (Mr Phorqs) on our visits to Texas I have some very happy memories of Monte and am greatly saddened by the news.

RIP Monte, a true gent.

This was on the R65 Facebook page.  For some reason I can't copy/paste from there so I took a screenshot.  This was posted by Tony Shaw and taken from a post by Monte's son.  I hadn't seen it here yet, I hope it's OK to copy and post it here.

Very sad. I always appreciated Monte's wit and civility when he would post here. He helped make this forum the friendly place that it is.

Truely an unbelieveable loss. I am way late hearing this sad news as I haven't been on the computer for a bit. Our entire R65 community benefited hugely from Monte's expertise and his humour here was legendary! Rest in peace my White Knight of all technical knowledge and breakdown saviour. With you and Graham up there together I know our prayers for a safe journey will have soft and understanding ears for the rest of time.

Oh man, just got back in town and am confronted with this news.  :'(  Phorqs - express my condolences to the family and please don't be a stranger here as we would hate  hearing through the grapevine of something happening to you.

You're so right Justin. Our oldest members need to check in to reassure us. Maybe they do not realise just how important they have become or became in our lives. This forum can be a bit of a family affair in which your R65 is the kid. I must pay attention to my own words! Not that I was helpful, mind, but I cheered!
