Perry Bushong Has Passed Away
« on: March 07, 2017, 02:39:12 PM »
FYI - I was informed that Perry died this past Saturday.  I know he was well known by a lot of BMW people and several people on this board.

I've heard there will be a memorial here in Ft Worth at the beginning of April at the Botanic Gardens.  If anyone is interested I can post details when they are "for sure".

That's a shame.  Perry was a fixture around here for many years and I remember first doing business with him in the late 70s.  He will be missed, especially by the hack crowd...

Yeah, super nice guy and one of those old guys whose stockpile of knowledge can't be replaced.  When I was considering a BMW he was the one who let me hang around the shop asking question after question.  He was still helping me out teaching me the basics.

Procession to Perry Bushong's Memorial Service tomorrow (April 1, 2017).  Please share this information with your respective club members and fellow riders.

We will assemble at Perry's Motorcycles and Sidecars at 816 South Sylvania from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM.

The Motorcycle Procession will depart the Shop at 1:30 PM.

The Procession will arrive at the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., between 2:00 - 2:30 PM.

The Memorial Service starts in the Botanic Gardens Theater at 3:00 PM.

The weather is still forecast as cloudy with a 30% chance of showers late in the day.  However, the most recent micro-cast computer model shows the showers to be spotty and all to the west of Fort Worth, so don't let that deter your participation.

Please join us for this procession for one of our sport's most storied supporters and "Gearhead" par excellence!!!

Sad to hear of someone so supportive of the motorcycling community, and airheads & sidecars in particular, passing on to the never ending highway.

Hope that you have good weather for the service

I went and not only was there a huge turnout, the weather also managed to cooperate and the rain stayed away.

It really was a good memorial, a great tribute to a great guy.  I was really glad to see the huge showing of bikes regardless of the weather.
