Sorry, a bit further north. Although my R65 and I did at one time live in Melbourne.

Hi Steve,

I am not so far north but have never lived in Melbourne! (My loss I guess)

We could start an Australian chapter of R65 owners but we seem to be rather far flung.

How are you getting on with the LS? Photos?

Good to see that there are a few r65's in aus, can't say I've seen any for years. Picked up my ls about 6 weeks ago and have been getting it ready to put on club plates. It is stock standard except for the exhaust which rusted out years ago, but must admit I like the chrome pipes. One owner, service records,20000km ,panniers, orig bmw service manual (of limited use), tool kit, first aid kit and lock cable under the tank. Will post photo when I work out how. Love riding the bike, though limited because unregistered. Much different to my Guzzi 940.

Too many boring miles..... logically it would have to be somewhere on the East coast.

Hi Adrian, very pleased with the bike. Today got a RWC to put her on club plates. Brakes are adequate but compared to modern discs, well....I can't remember enough to compare them to the bikes I rode in the 70's and 80's. It is early days for me and the bike and I am sure there will be improvements as I work through the list of service items outstanding.
I want to keep the LS as original as possible, faults and all.

Looking good!

Does it have both side covers? Cable tie them on quick, they are rocking horse manure!

Both side covers are present and you can see the cable tie in the photo.
