MOA only for me since about 93 or so.  I generally like the monthly rag but since they went all slick and glossy I find most of the articles of little interest.  The primary benefit to me is the Anonymous book and I have used it several times when encountering breakdowns and flats on the road.  Since I about 90% committed to the RA rally in June I probably ought to pony up some bucks to that group.  They get pretty good reviews from most folk.

Could be you may need to break it down to BMW enthusiasts and Airhead enthusiasts .

 I personally have little to no interest in anything BMW has built after the Airhead, so groups catering to later model stuff would be off my list. Airhead organizations of any kind and BMW organizations are like apples and oranges to me

Naturally, it doesn't make late model stuff bad, just not "my cup of tea"

Can't beat the Airheads for maintaining your Airhead. Can't say anything bad about the Chicago MOA either. Always made me feel Welcome even though I was only a lowly Airhead. People are always looking for what they can get out of a club, try contributing a little first.

Not a member of any of the three forums listed probably because Aussie is a bit far away.  Last year I joined a non-airhead forum (www.k100-forum.com) of which the majority of members are from Oz.  Although there are quite a few from the UK, IRL & USA along with the Europeans and a few more scattered about.  Better mention the Kiwis and South Africans before they get upset.  

It is a lot of fun and have met a few of the inmates along the way.  It has a healthy atmosphere with a lot of banter.  There is no attitude, BS or chest beating that appears on some sites that make you feel unwelcome.  Everyone helps each other and a lot of parts are traded for very little or for free where you just pay for postage. At least one member here uses the site.  

A very helpful site where piss taking is considered compulsory.  It is similar to this site but with a slightly different twist.  Since the beginning of the year I have added two more K75s to my stable.

My father signed me up for ABC a few months ago- now I get Airmail every month.

Interesting - I can understand why someone doesnt like the "1950's typewriter motif" - it looks dated, but so does my R65...
  I wouldnt pay extra for the magazine (I'm not paying for it now - Dad bought me a year) but for receational reading, I look forward to every new issue.  I probably will not continue the subscription after it expires...not sure..its not that expensive from what I can tell.

The reality is that no magazine can compete with the size and immediacy of the internet, but I dont get any other publications at my house that I read for "fun", so the ABC airmail is not unwelcome.

Never been to a ride or gathering.  if there was an Ohio tech day I might try to make it out just to ride somewhere, but if the people are that much of an issue - no club is worth sticking with.

Its a big world, and there is lots of room for all of us.

I guess I'm not as unique as I thought.  

I joined the airheads back around 94 but that lasted only a year or two.

Joined the MOA sometime around 91 or 92 for the want ads, and to advertise the fiberglass airhead bodywork I was making at the time.

Been an MOA member off and on ever since. The last time I paid for three years, but when that expires, don't think I'll re-up for a lot of the reasons already mentioned. It's mostly about expensive Foreign rides and the newer bikes. I can skim through it in an evening.

I even used to be a member of the local Oregon club, but didn't feel like I was getting that much out of it. Didn't have that much time to contribute anyway.

I usually go to the airheads tech days and help out, and this summer at the MOA Rally here in Salem I'll probably hang with the airheads most of the time.
