Photo here showing the Surefoot side stand on my R65. It doesn't retract automatically, some say that its dangerous but I have never yet moved off on any bike with stand extended. Might happen tomorrow of course!
Regarding the buzzer my UK spec R65 (1979) has it. I did not like it so disconnected in under the tank. There are two connectors there, if you pull out the other one it disables the starter lock. I believe technically these buzzers are illegal in UK because they can be mistaken for the pedestrian-crossing buzzers which give the ok to blind persons. Never heard of anyone getting a ticket though!

The surefoot stand mounts so much further back than the stock stand. That must make it far easier to deploy while still sat on the bike.

and it doesn't look like a repairable item.
As a matter of fact it is repairable but it takes a very strong glue and nimble fingers! I did a repair of mine, of course after shelling out more than $100 on a new one, and this repair still holds. BTW the repaired item is only five years old!

greetings from a sunny north

Welcome aboard !

A fine combination of motorcycles - I can relate to!

The "LS" pannier mounts/frames @ Re-pscycle should fit the non-LS bikes as well.    Yes, I am an LS owner who has a set of those chrome mounts on my bike - I'd have preferred the black painted ones, but the chrome was all I could find at the time I was looking.   The LS model has a different tailpiece/cowl with fancy plastic passenger grab handles that are dubious in functionality, but look stylish and get in the way of most of the available saddlebag mounting systems available.   The only style of bag mounts which will work on the LS are the separate left/right mounts without a rear luggage platform.  They bolt on either side of the frame through the rear shock absorber mounting bolt and have stubby rear "Arms" which bolt together through a welded "eye loop" at the back of the rear subframe, just ahead of the tail light.   I believe that the non-LS models have this same subframe feature for mounting.    The non-LS models can also use other brands and styles, including a single piece, all-integrated mount that has an integral rear luggage platform.    I actually have one of these (minus the bolts) that is painted black and in OK condition that I would be willing to part with for a forum member for a nominal fee.

The "bags" themselves are not bike-specific, but the mounting frames are specific - or at least different- between the R45/65 bikes and the R80/100 bikes of similar vintage/year, due to the R80/100 bikes having slightly taller frame and the mounting bolt holes for the lower front arm of the the mounts/subframes being horizontal on the R80/100 and vertical on the R45/65 (so the lower front arms of the mounts are 'twisted' 90 degrees with respect to the other style mounts, plus arm length being different).   There are a variety of bags (used) available, plus one can still get new BMW bags and new Hepco&Becker bags, but I'm not sure if the H&B bags will fit on the standard BMW mounting frames or not.
