Bought it on the German E-bay for $200. The fitting was easy after I rebuilt the front end of the bike :-) New head lamp, new handle bars, new wiring, new bracket for the instruments, new heavier springs for the forks, new brake lines and pipes, modification of the instrument pad, and modification of the brake- and clutch grips.

It has been worth the trouble and riding a naked bike in our climate  is not  very funny.

The modifications have if anything made the bike's cornering better.

greetings from a windy north

Love your bike, Trolle!  Personally, I think it looks much better in black!   ;)

This is after it's yearly bath and spit shine.....to go to the Harvest Classic and European Bike Rally in Texas. I enter the bike every year but have never won anything..it's a baby compared to many of the bikes. There are some really old and beautiful machines there

Damn, Scotty!   I just don't see HOW that rig of yours hasn't ever won any kind of prize yet!  It is one of the very BEST looking hacks I've seen!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'm thinking seriously of looking for a light weight rig like what you have and making Britta into a sidecar rig.  I may have to put you on the payroll as a "consultant" to make sure I do this right!   ;)

Troll, Your R65 is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Nicely played.

Off-topic question:

What I'd really like to know more about is the design and construction of the homes shown behind you. Roof appear to be corrugated metal roof with a large eave for weather protection or...?

I grew up in an architect's home. Can't help myself. I'm impressed with Scandinavian design.

Here's a small LRB pic.
Aida...are those BMW summer pants you are wearing in the laverda pic?
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".
