Maybe cafepress would give us an acceptable deal, but I bought a couple T shirts from them this past winter from their "stock" offerings (T-shirts that say "Evil Mutant Science Teacher" for my wife and one of her teacher friends) and they were probably the most expensive T-shirts I've ever bought - and that includes buying T-shirts @ rock concerts! :D

But you are correct, once the stencil is made or the pattern is programmed into the embroidery machine and file saved, there should be no more 'NRE' charges, though some might still charge a setup fee for each batch.

With cafepress, you simply go in and pick which items you want to sell in 'your shop'.  You upload the artwork yourself - they don't do they art prep as far as I can tell.  Then you decide how much 'markup' if any you want to sell on each item.  The extra $ goes back to the owner of the shop.  I have a feeling their starting prices are not 'bargain' prices and I've never purchased anything from them.  No need to send in a big order at all - just set up the shop and let everyone order as they want.  (I don't think I saw any patches either, Melena.)

I have family coming to visit this weekend, but maybe I'll have time to set something up next week.  Unless, of course, someone else has the time and initiative to go for it! Here is a link that gives info on the Basic storefront...

I see that there are some designs being sold on polo/golf shirts (what is the difference?) and also hooded sweatshirts and hats.  Depending on what design(er)s specified for the design, somethings are available in different articles of clothing than others, but presumably they can do most anything, including stickers.   Kinda pricey goods, but once setup it would be fairly hassle-free, I think.

There are even logos on ladies' unmentionables for sale in some of those merchandize categories.  Though I for one am not interested in an BMW R65-thong, we may have some folks that would be..

Well, I went out and checked a few items available (I have access to Motomark1's storefront:  http://www.cafepress.com/motomark1) and although patches are not available, lots of choices abound in shirts/hats/bags/stickers...even a yard sign or banner!

I'll be glad to try to work something up next week.  Rich, do you have that updated patch in a png format?  They work better than jpgs for these folks.  I'm pretty sure this stuff is NOT embroidered, just printed.  But it's an option instead of someone having to put out a lot of upfront money to get a batch ordered (then having the hassle of collecting payment, shipping, etc.)

Anyone else with files that they would like to see on shirts/hats, speak up and we'll get what we can.

<Jumping up and down a waving his hand in the air>

Oh, OH. Pleaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeee Sir - pick me.

I vote for the long t-shirts. I just love 'em and they are not that common in the land down under......(or should that be the land that time forgot  ::))

I would guess that shirts (of various types) are generally more widely used and popular than hats.  I do like my R65 hat, but I also have about 2 dozen or so other similar hats of various kinds, and one doesn't generally bring along several hats to a rally, etc, whereas one often needs at least a couple shirts.  Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they do flashlights/torches - those that Justin found for us last year were quite nice - even if our web name has changed since then.

I vote that we start with some shirts, and depending on how well it goes, we later decide to expand into other articles or try a different source/plan.  JMHO, of course.

I'll see what I can find in the shirt department.
